Big Bass Drop

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Big Bass Drop surprised us. On paper it's a simple casual game about fishing, but the timing mechanics give it a rhythm that keeps you tapping longer than you planned. You drop the line with one tap, watch the depth meter, and pull back at the right moment. Miss the window and the line comes up empty; nail it and there's a satisfying little animation and a soft bass note.

Control is all one-thumb, which makes it perfect for a commute or a queue. The difficulty ramps gently as deeper zones ask for faster reactions and tighter timing. We liked that it never nags you to hurry up or punishes a lazy session.

After a few evenings we found ourselves chasing personal bests rather than any built-in goal. It's not a deep game, but it's a genuinely pleasant one, and the audio design carries a lot of the charm. Good for winding down.
