Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga leans hard into character. The turn-based combat is solid, but what kept us going was the writing between fights and the little side quests that flesh out your party.

Building your squad matters. Elemental matchups and positioning reward planning, and boss fights punish autopilot. We appreciated that you can save mid-battle, which suits a game you dip into during short breaks.

It's generous with its story pacing, maybe too generous early on. Push past the first hour and it opens up nicely.
